On April 14, 2022, the EcoDevishilt NGO organized the First National Conference on “Waste Management on Current Situation of Protected Areas in Mongolia”. The conference was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations, projects and programs in the field of waste management, as well as protected area authorities. The German Embassy, Hustai National Park, Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, Ecosum NGO, Moron Municipal Waste Project, and the Sustainable Tourism Development Project presented their best practices and current status. During the conference, there was an open discussion and exchange of views on the current state of waste in Special Protected Areas, ways to solve it, good practices and how to integrate and cooperate in the future.
EcoDevelopment will summarize the suggestions made during the discussion and the work to be done, and then incorporate them into its work. We will also disseminate the findings of the discussion to the participants and our partners, and work to create a Waste-Free Mongolia and a Waste-Free Protected Area.
