Hovsgol lake is now member of Living Lakes network

ecoDevshilt has applied Hovsgol Lake to the Living Lakes network in October. Living Lake is an international network and partnership whose mission is to enhance the protection and restoration of lakes, wetlands, other freshwater bodies of the world and their catchment areas. Currently has 113 member lakes in living lakes network. Our application was confirmed in December. Hovsgol lake is officially member of Living Lakes network.

Project manager S. Shurengerel and operations executive P.Uuganzaya have invited to attend 16th Living Lakes Conference in Puno, Peru 5th-8th of December. We had an opportunity to travel before the conference in Peru. Our team travelled to the Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and world heritage downtown Cusco.

Organizers

The conference held in the city of Puno, organized by the Binational Autonomous Authority of Lake Titicaca (ALT) under the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Peru and Bolivia, in collaboration with the Global Nature Fund (GNF). Supported by International Climate Initiative and Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection. Puno is a small city located in lake Titicaca. It is the largest freshwater lake in South America and highest of the world’s large lakes. Located 3810 m above sea level. Titicaca located in Peru and Bolivia.

This conference brought together international participants on the topic “Biodiversity, climate change and restoration of lakes and wetlands: Impact of climate change, mitigation and adaptation strategies” and provided a valuable platform for discussion and exchange of experiences and information between private, scientific, public and academic organizations of 158 participants from 30 countries.

By participating in this event, we have been given a great opportunity to introduce our country, Hovsgol lake, Ms2s marathon and our project. It has been opened to exchange information and experience from projects in other countries that are conducting similar activities.
