There has been proven study of 20264 pieces of microplastic per square meter in Hovsgol Lake. Therefore, we initiated “Plastic Free Hovsgol Lake’ campaign by producing cotton tote bag with support of local population to distribute in the supermarkets of Hatgal Village. 5 supermarkets, 1 restaurant of Hatgal Village and Khan Bank, State Bank each joined our campaign to protect Lake Hovsgol from plastic.
According to our research, one household can use tote bags for an average of 5 years, which can reduce the waste of 750 plastic bags and save 750,000 MNT.
